With the final puffs of winter fading away, here is a chance to snap up a bargain red made by Luke Lomax – part of the super-group of winemakers of Yabby Lake. Devil’s Cave Shiraz from Luke’s hometown Heathcote delivers way over the odds. The Cave itself sits behind the vineyard, was used by ancient land owners for shelter and later by prospectors looking for gold – well we’ve struck it here.
Our international range continues to please local winemakers. Two cranking new finds are full of intrigue – Rolet’s Jura is a “natural” Chardonnay won’t last long – the best vintage since 1974. Meanwhile, the opportunity to BBQ outside again makes the indulgent Ugo Lequio Barbaresco a doozy – 2015 was a great year, generous yet elegant. It’s so good that sharing isn’t necessary – but it won’t disappoint friends when they are invited home again.
A great Aussie red, made by a rockstar, versatile to match all types of weather.
A star from the Jura, made naturally yet cleanly, from one of the great vintages.
Simply fantastic Piedmont power, from a refined vintage that’s just opening up.
